Angela Visser, a beauty queen from Rotterdam, Holland won the 1989 Miss Universe pageant in Cancun, Mexico. She bet other 75 beauty contestants from all over the world. She has still remained as the only Dutch to win Miss Universe crown. In 1988, Angela Visser won Miss Holland 1988 beating other 24 contestants for the title. Following her victory, she got the right to compete in two biggest pageant in the world, Miss World and Miss Universe.

In 1988, Angela Visser represented Holland in Miss World beauty pageant. In the pageant, she was one of the favorites for press and bookmakers but she was unplaced. She placed 13th overall in the pageant.

After being unplaced in Miss World 1988, she would compete in Miss Universe 1989 pageant where it was held in Cancun, Mexico. In the pageant, she was also one of the most favored by international press and photographers, along with Misses Australia (won Miss Photogenic), USA, Mexico, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Norway, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Korea, Brazil (won Best National Costume), Sweden, Ireland and Israel. She led all three semifinal competitions and became #1 judges’ favorite. She won the most prestigious beauty title in Cancun, Mexico being the first and only Miss Universe from the Netherlands. Her victory was greatly accepted by international community and she was considered as a superb titleholder.

Being a Miss Universe has opened many doors for Angela to the entertainment world. She became a TV presenter and actress, who appeared in some of America’s hottest TV shows and films, such as Friends, USA High, Blossom, Ben Stiller Show, Boy Meets World, Baywatch, Beverly Hills 90210, Acapulco H.E.A.T, Hot Under the Collar, Killer Tomatoes Eat France, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes III and Spy Hard.

Today, Angela Visser is a full time mother of a beautiful daughter named Amelie Rose. She married with Phil Missig, an estate agent. She is also a SOEC volunteer. They live in Sherman Oaks, California now.
